Today I got a car. Actually I don't get it until next Wednesday. It is a 2001 Mitshibishi Mirage. One thing I am learning is that everything in the Micronesian culture is about relationship. This guy was a statesider who is a Chrisitan but who has lived in Micronesia several times in his life and where he met his wife. He was over here working on a project for one of the Baptist Churches and is now leaving the island and so he has to sell the car in 14 days. As we went for the test drive, Steve - Campus Director - went along as well as the owner and we are chatting away the whole time. I got a chance to share with him my testimony of how I believe God called me here. He also had felt called to come to the Island so he related to my story. The Car had a sign which said $4500 in the window. After the drive he showed us a print out of the value of the car based on Blue Book value and he said he would give it to me for $3500. We told him we would call him in the afternoon and let him know for sure since this is greater than the amount budgeted for a car and about the $1200 car that fell through. When Steve called him back and told him we would take the car, and then the guy lowered the price to $3000. Wahoo. God is good. It isn't an exciting car but it should be good to get me from here to there and the air works. :o) And it has a CD player so I can still worship God when I am driving. :o)
Oh yeah.....and this one is an Automatic. I suppose maybe the Lord thought I would have my hands full with everything else I am learning new. :o)
